My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Los Angeles, CA
I made a thread a while back, but now it is closed and I have a few more questiions. I received VC 16020(No evidence of Insurance) and VC 22107(Illegal Left Turn). From my previous thread, two users concluded that I have to go to an arraignment and possibily a trial date. I had a expired card at the time, but I have the updated card with it showing that it was insured during the time.
The court is Long Beach Court. I called the clerk and gave her the VC code and ask if it was correctable and she said only in an arraignment and we set up a date. I wasn't suppose to pay the whole ticket right?
My arraignment is on June 22 and I wondered what I should do. Never appeared in court before.
Do I say "I plead not guility" or "I plead not guilty on one of the charges"? I plan on only fighting the insurance ticket because it's ~$400. The turn was not illegal because the line was broken but the cop almost hit me(that's why he got me + end of the month quota), so i'm sure he could say it was an unsafe turn.
I also read similar thread about correcting this insurance violation, but those were 16028. The people who corrected it had the ticket waived off and just got a $25 fee; I have heard otherwise.
Since I went to an arraignment, am I going to get hit with a $200 court fee? Which only cut the insurance ticket in half
Thanks!
