My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Massachusetts
I was denied unemployment benefits due to the fact I voluntarily left my position. When I spoke to the original UI representative, they placed my claim stating that I could not work the hours given to me. My claim included that I had to leave the state with my child due to domestic violence, and I was told I did not need to give that information. After my denial, and explaining the situation to the adjudicator, they had asked me to appeal and overturn the claim. I had one hearing which has been continued to the end of this month because they wanted me to send documents to support my claim. I sent a police report and a child custody agreement stating I had legal and physical custody of my child...both documents are dated the same week I left my position. I am wondering if I can be granted these benefits under these circumstances?
