Default Collecting Unemployment from Multiple Previous Employers

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: North Carolina

If I file a claim to receive unemployment benefits in the state of North Carolina, I am told that I only need to furnish my most recent employer's information. I am also told that the base period is the first four of the last five quarters. During the base period, I was employed by more than one employer, not all of which were my most recent employer. So which employers are notified that I am unemployed and paying for my unemployment: only my most recent employer, or ALL of the previous employers during my base period?

If NC is like MA, ALL of your employers are notified and the wages from ALL of your employers is used to calculate your benefit. But ONLY your most recent employer has the right to contest and ONLY your most recent employer's account will be charged in the event that your benefit is approved.

    YMMV.

Employers report your wages and pay the UC tax on them quarterly. You must report your most recent employer because they may not yet have reported your wages for the most recent quarter. All employer accounts that are in your base period will be charged. It is not the case that you could work for 10 months for one employer, change and work another 2 months, and then only the 2 month employer gets charged. It is allocated by percentage based on the total wages paid by each employer during the base period. Each employer is notified of this.

An employer affected could possibly challenge by offering you employment.
