My question involves criminal law for the state of: Maryland

So, first some preliminaries, I'm in college studying actuarial science. I get good grades and I work full time. I used to smoke marijuana on a regular basis but gave it up about two years ago. However, for whatever reason, I kept my bowl in a briefcase under my bed. Which, as I should have guessed, is not a good idea when you have a pothead for a roommate.

A few days ago, my roommate decided to smoke in his room. Some passing security guards for the apartment complex (off-campus), who happened to be off-duty county police, smelled it. When they knocked on the door, I let them in and explained the smell was the result of my roommate. At the time, my roommate had gone to store and his room was locked. So they detained me in the living room and we waited for him to return. When he returned and they questioned him and asked if they could search his room, he said no. So they contacted their friends on duty and had them come over, survey the situation and then go and get a search warrant. My roommate and I were detained during the whole process.

As you can probably guess, once they had the search warrant, they looked in every conceivable hiding space. In my roommate's room they found about 0.2 grams of marijuana, rolling papers, baggies with residue, a glass pipe and a grinder. In my room, they found the aforementioned bowl.

We're on separate leases, so I'm only responsible for what was found in my room. My question is, what sort of penalty am I looking at? I'm assuming I will be doing some community service and will probably have to get drug tested on a regular basis. I know there's no way for me to get the charge dropped, so I guess my only option is to appeal to the good graces of whatever judge I wind up with. What's the best way to go about the trail? Should I go to court with my school transcripts? Will the judge even consider my academics in making his/her decision? Basically, my question is, how screwed am I? What are the chances of me getting the maximum penalty for these charges?
