My question involves criminal law for the state of: Virginia
Back in Oct. my friends and i all got tickets for underage drinking and possession, there were 7 of us varying from the ages of 18-20. None of us were driving we were all sitting in my friends floor, all intending to stay the night at said persons house. The cops came and knocked on the bedroom door, making us to think her mother called the cops "to teach her a lesson" because she had been partying alot. This was the first time my husband and i had went out like that. We went to court in November, they pushed the date to may, 3 of us turned 21. 4 out of 7 hired lawyers, my husband and I didn't they're lawyers told them to do 100 hrs of community service (not court ordered). Since we are all charged together should we do it to and what are the consequences since we are now 21, or would the charges still be the same since we were underage.
