Default Moving Case to Another State

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Illinois

Why does a state maintain jurisdiction over a case if BOTH parents don't live in the state anymore? How can they deny transferring jurisdiction to the state where the kids are with the CP and have been located for x amount of years if the NCP no longer lives in the original issuing state either? Is there any way to change this?

It depends on the facts and procedural history of the case.

Review the court's findings from the bench and/or the order of the court that denied the transfer of jurisdiction to see if it provides an explanation.

Again that depends on the facts and procedural history of the case.

Discuss the details with a custody lawyer.

Was the child support order from a divorce decree or was this a child support order for a child born out of wedlock?
