My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: Georgia
When I first started over a year ago I was being paid nine dollars per hour. Then I started working overtime and he changed it to salary. But I only get 372 a week for 47 hours worked. Whenever i work any hours under 47 a week it changes to hourly. As soon as I work overtime again it changes to salary. This week I told him I can only work 40 hours but he said I'll give you 36 but now its no longer salary but hourly. However when I worked 47 hours it was salary. What can I do to collect my overtime pay from this employer. Even if it IS salary I needed to make 455 a week. I wasn't to get that difference from him but lawyers charge too much. What route should I go. He's already had the US DOL look at him previously. Also he has a contract with Fulton County even though he underpays and/or pays cash to most employees to duck tax costs and overtime. What should I do. Would love to stay around for another couple of months and build a case against him.
