    Question Ohio property claim

My ex-husband and I divorced 25+ years ago. In the settlement, he was supposed to buy my share of the property we purchased together. He never has settled on this and the property is still in both of our names as a joint survivorship. He has since remarried and is now in the process of adding on (on a large scale) to the house. Should I stop the construction and force the settlement, or should I let him finish the work and then make a claim?

I would like to have my share as has been owed to me for over 25 years, and I want interest to make up for the years I had to struggle to make ends meet and send our children to college while he sat back and said his obligation to them ended when they turned eighteen. (I might not be quite as greedy about this if he had not been so bad about paying his support and taking care of his share of the medical bills for the children).

    I would appreciate any advice.

Bring a court action to enforce the settlement. Your share of the proceeds will depend upon the terms of your settlement.
