    Default DUI Probation Violation

My question involves criminal law for the state of: PA
My brother had a bench warrant for violating his probation for his second DUI. His first was in 2001 and second in 2010. He wanted to make sure he does everything right even though he violated his probation. So he turned himself in. His docket sheet now says the warrant has been served/returned and the status of the case is closed. I am not sure what to make of the closed status. I thought there would be a probation violation hearing. I want to know what is the standard procedure in clearing the bench warrant for DUI probation violations. We are planning to contact the PO's office and then an attorney. Thanks

A bench warrant will either be "cleared" by the arrest of the defendant or by the court's recalling the warrant. It sounds like the court recalled the warrant when he turned himself in.
