    Default Arkansas Step Parent Adoption

Hi I have a daughter from a previous marriage who is 7. Her biological father is deceased. My husband would like to adopt her but money is an issue. We live in Arkansas is there a way that we can do this on our own by just filing the paper work or do we have to go thru an attorney and if we can do it on our own does any one know where we can get the paper work to do it.

It should be something you can handle yourself. Sometimes you can obtain standard petition forms at the courthouse - you may wish to check. You will almost certainly need to file a certified copy of the father's death certificate, in order to establish that service upon the father is not necessary.
