Default Running Away from Foster Care

This is a canadian question, I'm a 15 year old in the province of Nova Scotia. On November 4 I was taken into foster care, upon my parents arrest. Previous to that I had not been living at home for close to 6 months, but being up on Federal and Provincial charges, all all underaged children they had guardianship over had to be put in care. I didn't not go by choice, I hate the system. They ripped me out of my home town and made me start over twice, now. I'm sick of it. I just got placed again 2 days ago after I ran away, and was placed a little closer to home, but yet it still isn't home. Like I said, I'm 15, and the agency still has a hold on me, I was wondering, if I waited until July, and then ran and hid for the summer, (my birthday is in early September) would they be able to do anything to me once I turn 16? I know that running again and being caught will result in myself being placed in a lockdown facility, but after I turn 16 is it possible fo them to really do anythig?

Of course it is. The age of majority in Nova Scotia is 19. You'll need to be at least 18 before you'd transition out of care under normal circumstances, and while it can happen younger, by running away you'd very firmly close the door on that option. When (not if, WHEN) you were caught, you'd be in care until your 18th birthday if not your 19th.

The age of majority is 18, but the age of protection is 16. I'm pretty sure it's possible to leave at 16, considering that the agency is my "Legal guardian" in Canada at 16 you an leave a residene and the cops can't do anything. But to leave and not be caught, at 16 the cops can't make me go, so to me that sounds like beating the system.

This is a U.S. board. If you have questions about Canadian law, ask them on a Canadian board or consult a Canadian lawyer.
