    Default How Long After Pregnancy Can You Be Charged With Statutory Rape

    My question involves civil rights in the State of: I know someone that was over the age of 18 and had a baby with someone that was 15 and the child is now 16 and the mother is just now wanting to go to the law in GA where it hapen and I was tring to find out if she could after all these ears??????? please help!

    The statute runs four years from the time the victim turns 18. Sounds like it's expired long ago. If the rapist wasn't yet 19, then it would be a misdemeanor under today's law. I'm not inclined to spend the time and money to look up what the Georgia law would be from 16 years ago.

    If the police inquire, he'd be well advised to speak to a lawyer first.
