Emancipation Law in Virginia

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Virginia.

Okay, So I just recently turned 16 (April 4th,) And My parents and I disagree and argue alot, and its becoming unbearable. I've read the law, and to my understanding All I have to do is show proof that I can support myself financially. Well here is my question, If I file a petition with the court to get Emancipated, and I have a stable Part time job (after School) Can I live with my friend? I would be financially supporting myself because I would be paying so much rent a month, Helping with the utilities, Buying my food, my clothes, my pop, etc. It doesnt state anywhere in the law that i cant live with a friend. So should this be a problem? Because how many people would rent an apartment to a 16 year old?

You'd need to show the court proof that you earn enough that you and you alone would be able to pay market rate for rent and utilities WITHOUT a roommate, should that roommate leave, die, move, or throw you out. You'd ALSO need to show that you have health insurance, savings, AND that you're making above average grades in school. Unless you're making better than $25 to $30 an hour, or you are independently wealthy, odds are very short that you make enough to convince a court that you can be FULLY self sustaining.

Search "emancipation" in the search function and you'll discover all the other kids who hate their parents and wish they could leave. Very few, if any even had a shot. You are not even close. So what chores did mom n dad want you to do over spring break, that made you so angry?
