Charged with Petty Theft and Scheduled for Court

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida.Will my case be heard and charged on the same day? Am I able to travel out of the us if I am awaiting trial after my notice to appear?And while on probation can i travel outside the US.Why I ask is I am sechduled to travle in may and in july.Can I buy down probation?Also should i send my letter of apology prior to court ordered?By pleading guilty for 1st time offenders i saw many of those got a minimal fine some probation and a lesser charge is that usally what happens?

Do not send a letter of apology at this point. That just adds to their evidence against you.

Likely, you will be arraigned on the first day, then a pre-trial date scheduled. Then a trial date. OR you might get lucky and be offered a diversion program right away.

I would recommend you talk to a local attorney.

As for traveling, you should definitely talk to a lawyer. Especially with traveling out of the country. You do not want to miss your court date. And you don't want the court to think you are fleeing to escape the charges.

As far as traveling overseas, I would proceed to plan as if the answer is no. As a bail bond agent I do not allow my clients to travel overseas while awaiting trial.
