Default Reentry of Husband Who Was Deported from Entering Illegal Marriage Over 15 Years Ago

I married my husband in July '10 knowing that he was being accused of entering an illegal marriage when he was younger and risked being deported. He second wife is the one that anonymously turned him into home security.

His lawyer at the time got a hold of the evidence held against him and suggested he willing leave the country before his trial, which was in Oct. '10. We both left abroad and when we contacted the lawyer, he over simply told us he was deported for an unclear 10-20 years. And that is all the information he gave us. He also mentioned since we were legally married in the US, that I am the only person who can petition for him to get back.

We have been married nearly 2 years now and are wanting to go back if possible. We have experienced lots of difficulty trying to both work in the same city where we both speak the same language. Is this even worth trying to pursue? We don't have any money to waste on lawyers. And the initial lawyer gave us no leads on who to pursue this further.

Thank you in advance for any guidance.

Only 8 years to go on his ban. As far as running to avoid prosecution, he may never be permitted re-entry. I would like to commend you for truly loving him enough to live and work in a country you do not want to be in.

You're talking about his immigration proceedings? Are you stating that he accepted voluntary departure, that he waived his trial and accepted deportation, or something else?

We don't have enough information to answer that.

What do you mean by an "Illegal marriage"? Are you stating that he paid his wife to marry him so that he could fraudulently obtain permanent residence"?
