    Default Will a DUI Affect Citizenship Application

    Hi i had a DUI over 3 years ago. I wish to apply for citizenship. Will i be refused? Should i wait 5 years?
    Should i get it expunged?

    Some people are approved with one DUI misdemeanor within five years of application; others are not. We can tell you that your odds go way up after the five years are up, but we don't know enough to guess at whether you would be approved or denied were you to apply now.
