Default Writing a Letter to a Judge

Hi, it is me again. I just got back from a visit with my husband and he wants to write a letter to the judge thanking him for letting him out of jail to go back into treatment. Does anyone have any ideas on what he should say? Any thought on this would be greatly appreciated. I have yahoo and msn instant messenger if anyone wants to add me so we can talk that way. They are dueonxmaseve2003@yahoo.com, and thisonebetterwork@hotmail.com. Thanks so much again.

He shouldn't write directly to the judge. Any communication with the court should go through his lawyer, and should be copied to the prosecutor's office. If he isn't represented, he may wish to instead express his gratitude to the probation officer who made the recommendation for treatment.

It is always a good idea to thank the Court. Also don't forget all those that supported you during your difficult time...... Never send anything directly to the judge. Always give to your attorney as well as keep a copy for yourself. Should you need to appear in court have additional copies with you incase for some strange reason they are not in your report addressed to the court for consideration. This happened to a friend of mine and I had a feeling her letters would not be presented to the court in time for review before sentencing and because she did have additional copies in court with her, the presiding judge called a recess and took the time to read ALL 53 letter (instead of just 12 from the probation department...) of character reference.
