My question involves restraining orders in the State of: New Mexico

My question is this my brother is a very violent and highly unstable person. Is it possible to file a restraining order against him for my family. I live in TX they live in NM. I have seen him in the past abuse his wife such as pulling her out of her vehicle by her hair and draging her in the house. I have also been witness to him slapping and beating her. At the time I was to young to do anything about it now I am old enough. He lives with my Dad and Sister and her husband on my dads property. Everyone is afraid of him. He has hit my sister threw things at her. He has called my dad a rapist and cheater. My dad is on oxygen and cant do much to protect himself and my sister is pregnant. They live out the desert in between Socorro, Belen, and Mountainair. His girlfriend is living with him in my brothers trailer that is on the property and she is getting abused to both verbally and physically. There are kids involved including a baby who lives with him and his girlfriend it is my niece. He does drugs and has sex infront of them. He has had the cops called on him only to disappear before they get there and return after they leave. No one knows what to do and they are all scared of him he has made threats to kill them and everything else. I am the only one that has every stood up to him. I have protected his ex wives by helping them leave him and file for divorce.

I just don't know what to do because I am here and they are there on my dads property. My dad has tried several times to get him to leave but he doesn't because that send him off into one of his fits. I have to protect my family I am afraid someone is going to get hurt or even killed. I am afraid if he gets angry enough could hurt my sister and cause her to miscarry. Or take my baby niece and do something drastic.

Any advice on where to begin will most helpful. I thought about going to the NM State Police and filing a restraining order against him and having him physcially removed from the property the filing a full protective restraining order against him to never set foot around them again but I read that I can't do that because I don't live at the property.

Thanks
