Sued for an Accident that Did Not Occur

My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: Georgia

I just received a letter from an attorney about a personal injury claim that happened in Georgia last July. My car was registered in PA because I had just moved here. However, I have noooooo idea what this letter is referring to. I was not in any car accident whatsoever and the car is parked outside right now without any bumps, dents, scratches, etc. It is perfectly fine. That car was bought in 2010 and has never been in an accident. The letter doesn't state where it happened or what happened it just states the date it happened. My dad and I were actually in PA at the time so it had to have been my mom but she has no recollection of anything happening. What to do? And yes, we have car insurance.

Also, there was another letter that came along with it but nobody was home when they were delivering it so it is at the post office ready to be picked up tomorrow.

start with calling your insurance company and tell them what is going on. As your insurance company, they have a duty to defend you.

In the meantime, can I still drive the car that they are claiming caused personal injury? We have another car but it is a gas guzzler and it is very difficult to have one car for 3 people.

So.....an update: the person is suing us because she says that our car cut in front of hers and she hurt her foot in the process of pressing the brake.

Let your insurance company know. I suspect the attorney is trolling for go away money from you or your insurer.

Sometimes, I sprain my ankle when I run. Should I sue the track that I run on or the shoe company that I wear? Also, when I do, that is my entire body weight supported on my ankle. When you drive, NOTHING is being supported by your foot...sigh...
