I never did file any support order against the father. I just felt it wasn't worth the hassle nor drama, especially, for someone like him who couldn't keep a job and has 2 other kids. The clerk did mention hiring a process server or calling the sheriff's dept. to have him served but that sounds costly. Will mailing a certified/restricted mail to his old address work? His stepfather still lives there although he hasn't in at least over a decade. His mother gave me his cell # 'cause she didn't know his mailing address either (or just didn't wanna get involved) and I've left messages, txts and even spoken to him once. He told me he'd call back to give me his address and after that one call, he's never answered his cell when i'd call or replied back to any of my vmails/txts.
This whole thing is nerve-racking! What do you think the odds the judge will flat out deny this application?
