My Mom Just Got Arrested for Shoplifting

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Virginia

My mother just got arrested in VA for stealing a neckless from macy's that was worth $340. she has money, and our family is doing very well financially , i think she is depressed or going through menopause, she is to apear in court in two days, what should we expect ? this is her first offense ( our family's first offense we are all ashamed )
