Not sure If i can afford one. I make 22k after taxes per year but I also pay for school out of pocket myself. I want to plead not guilty than have them appoint me a PD.

Or do i contact the PD office myself and ask for one asap.

I think his prior is from California, his current charges are in Florida. The name of the charge "resisting arrest without violence" sure sounds like the Florida statute 843.02. It's a class A mis, same penalties as California though (year in jail and/or fines).
I think you're right ... glossed over that. Ah, well ... still needs an attorney to work this out or face the potential of jail.

When you appear for arraignment, you should be allowed to request appointed counsel. You may well have to prove that you lack the income or resources to pay for one, so be prepared.

    *UPDATE*

Called around a few places and spoke to some different criminal def attorneys on my lunch break (3 of them). The general consensus was that based on certain facts (if they remain true) no priors, no drugs or alcohol involved in incident, no injury to police in incident...that jail time would be unlikely (as previously mentioned). but a lawyer would be needed to achieve such results, other wise i could get screwed and swept under the rug... 2 of them mentioned they consider if you work full time, have school...they consider a range of things in considering the punishment or restitution
