No Drugs Were Found but I'm Being Forced to Participate in a Sting

My question involves criminal law for the state of: illinois

My friend & I were at the gas station. Someone called & said one of us were shooting up. The cops searched our purses & found nothing then called an ambulance cuz my friend was having an neanxiety attack & they said she was Od'ing. They searchnd my carund syringes & heroin paraphernalia but no actual drug. They arrested me, then said they'd let me go if I agreed to participate in a sting. They said they were gonna sieze my car and place a felony charge of possession of heroin on me. I'm scared sraight & don't know what I should do. Any advise? I do not want to participate in a sting!

Possession of drug paraphernalia IS a criminal charge in and of itself. You can anticipate that testing will be done to detect the presence of illegal substances, and that additional criminal charges may be added pending the results.

This is when you should have consulted with an attorney.

They said they were gonna sieze my car and place a felony charge of possession of heroin on me.

If they think they can prove possession of herion, they can certainly ask for a seizure order on the vehicle.

I'm scared sraight & don't know what I should do. Any advise? I do not want to participate in a sting!

You need a criminal defense attorney immediately. Felony charges can result in you facing a year or more in state prison. The state can STILL charge you with a crime, even if you make a "deal" with police. (Police are not the DA, and the DA is not the police.)
