    Default Fingerprinting and arrest question

I'm getting my fingerprints taken today for a volunteer position. My fingerprints were not taken at the time I was caught for shoplifting. How will I be affected? I have also not been to court yet, or given a court date.

Also, how is an arrest defined? Do they read your rights? Do they actually have to handcuff you for it to be counted as an arrest? I only signed papers.

Generally if you have been arrested and an officer is there, he/she will tell you if you have been placed under arrest. You should have been read your rights and/or told you will receive a court appearance notice/citation of some sort. You don't have to be finger printed, photographed with the little plaque or hooked up to be placed under arrest. If you haven't been to court or can't find out from the court about a pending court date one of tow things will happen.
    1. You will get a notice in the mail with a court date, time.
    OR...............
    2. You will NOT get a notice to appear in court.

Either way, you will STILL need to wait and see what happens. As far as the volunteer position, it won't matter.

I don't get it...I wasn't read my rights. So does that mean I was not arrested? What does that mean?

If you didn't get a citation right then and there, or were told you were getting one in the mail then charges will probably be in the works. If none of those things were told to you and you were only trespassed from the store with no police officers involved, then that's most likely the end of it. I don't know how many other ways you are going to keep asking the same question in a new thread and somehow still not understand. I'm sorry if I'm sounding a bit blunt Ohio but, it's been explained a ton, you should get it by now.
