My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Ohio
I am receiving bills for dentist visits for my son that his mother has taken him to. I carry insurance for him, but I have not signed a financial contract with the office. The office has said they always send the bill to the person who carries the insurance, so I requested their financial policy document. The financial policy document has signature line for the responsible party to sign - wasn't me since I did not take him - stating they would be responsible for anything the insurance doesn't cover. Can they truly hold me (the insurance carrier) responsible, or should the bill be sent to the person (his mother) who signed the agreement and brought him to the appointment?
we were not married.
