My question involves criminal law for the state of: Nevada - My husband, who is on lifetime parole for a crime, (rape) he did not commit, is in NV and I am living in CA. We have, for the past few months, been trying to get him transferred out to CA. All the interstate compact requirements have been met, however, his newly appointed parole officer in Nevada is dragging her feet in submitting the request for transfer. My husband has been on parole for thirty years and in that time he has had many parole officers so we know that they all have different ways of dealing with their parolees. My question is, is there any way to expedite the transfer? Do we have any rights, or are we at the mercy of his new p.o.? It is quite a hardship, both financially and personally. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you for your time.
