Default Do Petty Theft Infractions Show on Background Checks

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

I was charged with misdemeanor for petty theft in 2010. When I went to court the judge reduced it to an infraction and I paid the fine. Im wondering if this will show up on a background check? and if it does is there a way to expunge it?
    Thanks

Default Re: Do Petty Theft Infractions Show on Background Checks

I do get tired of typing this over and over. Doesn't anyone ever use the search feature?

What does and does not show up on a background check depends entirely on how deep or thorough a check is run. There is no such thing as a standard "background check" that always produces exactly the same results. All background checks are not created equal.

    Rinse and repeat.
