    Default Getting a Visa After Abandoning Permanent Residency

    I'm helping a friend of mine and would like to know..: if my friend (a conditional permanent resident/2years greencard) who married a US citizen decided to divorce and return to her country of origin after her two years greencard is over and not continue to apply for the 10 years greencard ..would she be able to get a tourist visa in the future for visit USA then ?? thanks a lot if anybody could help.

    It shouldn't be an issue for someone who abandoned permanent residence to get a non-immigrant visa (or even come in on the visa waiver depending on the country involved). Leaving the country while legally in status doesn't cause any reentry bar.
