As I pointed out, a air pistol is considered to be a dangerous weapon in Massachusetts. You were in violation carry concealed or within your control in a vehicle.
You are guilty of assault for threatening someone with it.
No doubt about it, kid, you're not just getting off asserting that it's just a pellet gun. THis is a serious deal in Mass. You're looking at several years no matter how you slice it.

I don't know what your attitude is, but I'm telling you the truth. The Mass. definition of dangerous weapons include air guns and you're not allowed to concealed carry or carry them within your control in a vehicle.
Even if the gun was a completely inoperative toy, threatening someone with it is still assault (albeit not with a dangerous weapon).
Both charges are felonies with the possibility of multiyear jail terms. You need a lawyer (that part of the disclaimer is right).
