Default Student F1 Visa and Misdemeanor Charge

I have been recently arrested in the state of Vermont for going 83 on 50mph zone. Apparently, the state law of Vermont says that the police officer has the choice to arrest you if you are going 30mph over the limit. I been charged with a misdemeanor and am suppose to go to court again in 3 weeks. I would need some help in understanding what is the likely situation to happen for me. I am a f-1 visa and will graduate from a US college in May. I`ve never been arrested in my life before and have nothing on my record. I am also applying for a visa to stay in the US and work after graduation.Could a misdemeanor charge affect either my F-1 status or the worker status that I am currently applying for?

    Thanks

You are charged with what offense? Reckless driving? If so, team up with a criminal defense lawyer and you can probably get it reduced to a non-criminal offense.
