My question involves collection proceedings in the State of:PA

I received a letter in Dec 2011 stating my account would be reviewed for possible legal action if not responded to immediately. I phoned an "account manager" at the listed number to discuss my options. Despite no notices, and a status of "repayment" on the website, I was told my account had been charged off in Sept 2011. The "account manager" offered to settle me $25k debt for $14k.

When I said that I was unable to do that, we worked out an arrangement. I set up monthly payments of $400 to be automatically debited from my account every month which would drop down to $150 after 3 months and continue through January 2014 when I would have to re-set up the payments to continue.

I noticed yesterday that online it said my account was 40 days past due despite showing a payment not two weeks prior(it also says its in repayment, not default). When I called today I was told by another "account manager" that my account is in review and that I will be taken to court despite making payments. She also told me that the previous "account manager" was wrong when telling me that making payments helped my account. She said to ignore the information on the website which has the wrong account status, payment due dates, AND payment amounts listed. I was told the ony way to rectify this is to settle for $12k by next week which I can't do.

I feel like the only way to get anything done is to actually record my conversations. I keep extensive logs of phone conversations and keep both a digital and paper log of when and for how much I make payments. I am trying desperately to make this right but the lender simply gives me the run around. I am consistently given conflicting information, if I'm given any. I just want to pay off my debt without getting screwed! Should I get a lawyer? Is there anything I can do about the discrepancies in my loan status? Help!
