Default Will I Be Able to Be Emancipated

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Washington

Hello, i am 15 right now, however i am trying to find out if i will be able to be emancipated later on.

I am a A/B stubent in school and i am in all Honors classes and have been for many years. I do not have a job right now, but i will have one, ofcourse, before I'd like to be emancipated. That is not my question though. I know that i will have to oppose my mother in order to be emancipated, and i am wondering whether my need to leave this environment will pass or not.

I live with my mother because my father does not own his own house. This is a one income household, with my mother, younger brother, and me. We run out of food frequently, and when we do have food it is never healthy. We have MANY animals and i am required to take care of all of them. My mother buys them and then leaves them for me to take care of. on that note, it is my job to clean the house, cook meals(when we have them), aswell as keep my grades up in school. and even though i meet all of these, my mother tells me i am not doing good enough. That i need to try harder, and do more. ever since i was 6 years old, i have had to take care of little brother, all the animals, and myself at home and because of this emotional pain has started to affect my health and education. My mother has mood swings that regularly end with verbal abuse towards me and my brother aswell.

I do not hate my mother. i love her very much and i respect her. However, her actions are what is causing my depression and i need to get away from this situation. I feel like she takes advantage of my kindness, and willingness to do what no one else will.

I know that i am not able to be emancipated now, but if im 16, have a good income, keep doing well in school, and have somewhere to live, will my reasoning for being emancipated pass in court?

also, as a side question, what would it take for me to be able to bring my 14 year old brother with me if i were to be emancipated?

thank you very much for helping

You read the stickied threads, right? If you are neglected at home, you can call protective services. Being neglected is not a basis for emancipation.

What it would take for you to bring your younger sibling with you would be for him to be eighteen years of age or older.

What kind of job do you think you will be able to get that will allow you to pay ALL your own expenses while continuing to go to school and continue that A-B average?

Because for purposes of emancipation, living with a friend or other relative while they pay part or all of your expenses is NOT going to pass. You would need to be able to show the judge that you are capable of earning enough to pay ALL the rent, ALL the utilities, ALL the food, ALL your clothing and other needs, including medical care, insurance, transportation, school fees and supplies, staples, and all the other incidentals of life.

And who do you think will clean the house where you are living and cook the meals that you will eat if you are emancipated? There is no emancipation fairy to come in at night and do it for you.

As for taking your brother with you, that is a non-starter. Don't even imagine that would happen, in the extremely unlikely event that you were able to emancipate at all.
