Question Do I Have to Report My Increase in Income to Child Support

My question involves child support in the State of: KY

    Hey guys,

I just have a quick question. I had to go to mediation for a child support modification review filed by my ex girlfriend about 5 months ago. I was only working part time then and the mediator told my ex she would only get a $3.68 increase. She said no thats not enough. So I spoke up and said I could go 80 dollars more to make it 280 cause the original amount was 200 a month. The agreement we signed was 303 dollars month.

Now I have a full time job at the same company and same pay a hour but just more hours, 40 instead of 20 a week. Do I need to report this to child support office. I have no paperwork stating that I have to and have looked up KY child support statutes with nothing stating I have to report when a obligation is already signed by a judge.

All responses greatly appreciated! Thank you

    Jonathan

If the courts have signed the agreement then you only have to pay the total amount you agreed too. Review for modification is only reviewed 3 years after the obligation has been set.

In simple terms, a parent can request a review of child support every three years or, if there has been a material change in circumstances that would affect the child support award by 15% or more, when that change of circumstances occurs. If you are under no obligation to report changes in your income, it will be up to the other parent to figure out that there has been change and to request review.
