My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Oklahoma.
I got an apartment about four months ago because my boyfriend (age 17) was kicked out by his grandparents (POA); He lived with me for about four an a half months. They would send him letters saying how "worthless" he is and how "they don't care if he lived on the streets"..under all the stress his grades began to fall a little in school. Keep in mind is Mother is still in the picture; He tried living with her, but since his grandparents own her house, they threatened to kick her out of her house if she let him stay there..well needless to say he couldn't even stay with his own mother. I got pregnant, (I'm 18) and they found out so they forced him back home, they cut his hours at his job, took his license, took his phone, took his vehicle, pretty much took everything away from him and they were talking about filing a rape charge against me, can they legally do that? I know I'm 18, but still?
The big question is, for four months they didn't give a darn about this kid and now all of sudden because he has six months until he's 18, they want to regain all control over him again, can he legally do something about the fact they didn't help him at all for four months? He even tried getting help from his mom, but they threatened her with her house; I know it's not exactly considered Neglect, but I'm sure there has to be something he can do, right? I mean they (being his grandparents) have POA over his mother, but does it seem like they are abusing it to you?
On a side note, I know this post doesn't sound as bad as the whole situation actually is, but he's emetionally being abused by the two people that shouldn't be hurting him as a bad as they actually are.
