It's hard to hear, but as it's a 'sex crime' the DA will most likely get a conviction in this day and age of the 'sex crime witchhunt'.
The fact that the girls are at fault won't really sway a jury, and they will usually find the defendant guilty of something.
Common sense may dictate that the girls just did something many girls did and he just happened to be there, but the state will try to seek a conviction.
Once the cat is out of the bag, it's hard to get that cat back in.
If it's his first offense, the DA may work out a plea that includes a sex offender polygraph screening. This screening will show that the defendant does not have any tendency towards underage girls, and that he is not a threat to the community.
This can cost a couple of thousand dollars and of course is highly disputed but is enough to put on paper that the DA can show the judge.

Even if I take the story presented at face value, this was not a case where "the girls are at fault". The guy is a grown-up, he could have left the room, but he instead chose to masturbate in front of children while encouraging them in a sexual performance.

You mean plethysmograph. Except we already know the guy was turned on by what he saw, so why would the prosecutor care if the guy offered to prove he wasn't sexually attracted to girls that age. Everybody already knows better.

You made some good points there.
Concerning the plethysmograph, they can do that in some cases. Some other quack doctors will not to do a plethysmograph, but instead subject you to the Able Assessment followed with a polygraph (no plethysmograph involved). In the polygraph session they will ask you questions to verify you answered the Able assessment truthfully.
