Exclamation Terminating Lease Within 24 Hours

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Michigan

I am a college student and one of my friends and I signed a lease for a house to rent for the next year with a couple of other girls from our sorority house. Only one of my friends and I signed it, and we have not paid the security deposit yet (we have until Feb. 15 to do so). However, our housing situation changed, and we do not need the house anymore. Is there anyway we can get out the lease if we talk to them tomorrow? What is the best approach for this?

Depending on the lease, you might be able to but without reading it, I cannot say one way or the other.

    You can always ask.

They are going to have a really hard time and it is not worth the effort to try to get you to stick to a lease that you don't want. Did you give them a security deposit?
