Default Life Insurance in Delaware Divorce Decree Lapses, Now Uninsurable

A friend's divorce decree issued by a Delaware Judge said her spouse needed to keep a term life insurance in her name as long as alimony/child support was being paid. He still pays alimony but let the life insurance policy lapse over a year ago. In between he got a disease which makes him uninsurable. What recourse does my friend have?

If she can think of something that might substitute as security, she can consider petitioning the court to order the substituted security in lieu of the no-longer-available insurance. We have no information about the parties or their assets, so there's no way to be specific.
