Download the "How Do I Apply for Citizenship" pamphlet here.

Since February, 2001, as long as the child is a legal permanent resident and is in the legal and physical custody of the naturalizing parents, children who are under 18 automatically derive citizenship when their parents naturalize. (The same holds true if the parents are separated and divorced, based only upon the naturalization of the parent with legal and physical custody, but in your situation you're still married and sharing custody so the naturalization of a child occurs when you both naturalize.)

You have to list all of your children on your N-400; your wife has to list all of her children on her N-400.

As the child derives citizenship automatically, it is not necessary to submit any special petition or documentation, or for the child to be interviewed or sworn in. However, it would be sensible to follow up after your naturalization to obtain documentation of the child's citizenship, such as by applying for a U.S. passport for the child for filing a form N-600 to get a certificate of citizenship for the child.

Thank you for you answer about not need to file any form for my child; but as my wife and I are applying at the same time in wich form must be included the information of our child to avoid duplication, i mean, is the same package submitted at the same time in the same envelope because also applying for a waiver, and my child information is wrote in both application, is that ok?
    Thanks again.
