Default Chances for Re-Entry After Felony

Kindly advice on the process and chances for re-entering the US after reading the pointers below:

    Never entered the US
was picked up from international waters and charged with assault
got a good deal and plead guilty and was sentenced to 37 months
    volunteered to be deported
I believe I was barred to enter for 10 years
removed on government expense in July 2001
never got in to any legal trouble after that
never tried going back to the US again
    got married and have kids
on a stable job with a US company that wants me to visit them and a conference for a few weeks
I have no intentions to stay back but have to be there to carry on with my job

    Questions:

What are the chances that I will get the permission to re-enter
    How long is the process
Do I need to submit my passport at the embassy to get a permission or do I submit it when I get the permission to reapply
what forms do I need to fill and where do I submit them
what documents do I need to attach
if I attach the sponsor letter I get from my employer - would they find out that I was deported. Would the embassy inform them?
I was on a three year probation when deported. what would happen to the probation if and when I return?

With a felony record, not likely. Your company will certainly want to know why you are denied entry.

If you're stating that you were convicted and sentenced in a U.S. court for a crime of violence of sufficient severity to trigger a 37 month prison term, I would say that your chances of reentry are somewhere between slim and vanishing. Even with a foreign conviction for a crime of violence, you aren't a good candidate. For a more detailed analysis you either need to share facts here or discuss the details with an immigration lawyer. (If you share facts about your conviction charge and court here, make sure you follow the forum rule about not giving details that will identify you to others).
