Default Pregnant Teen Wants to Move In With Boyfriend

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Illinois
I live with my grandmother who went through court to get guardianship of me and my brother and sister. I am 6 months pregnant and worried about the future for both me an my baby. I have the opportunity to move in with my boyfriend and his parents. because if I do not then my brother is being kicked out of his room so me and the baby have our own and my sister her own, I do not feel comfortable with that. I also do not feel comfortable with my grandmother supporting all four of us. She is afraid that if she lets me move out then she is risking losing the other two kids. Can this happen? And Is there any legal way out of this?

Well, you certainly won't be emancipated.

And honestly? You've both committed a crime. If you move in with your boyfriends parents, THEY can be charged with a crime, too. Your grandmother is right to be concerned.

How have we committed a crime? and how can they be charged? I already know that I can move out with consent thank you.

Because the age of consent in your state is 17.

They can be charged for endangering the welfare of a child (their son). It's true that you can move out with your legal guardian's consent - but moving in with your 15 year old boyfriend? Not so much.

How exactly is he endangered? obviously there is no law broken being that the school is aware of the fact that he's 15 and I'm 16, I know for a fact that if there was anything wrong and that if a law was broken that the school is obligated to report it to authorites. And regardless of this, I do not understand how any of this has anything or is in any way related to my question, but thank you for trying.

It's a regular epidemic this week, innit? Knocked up teenagers with 'tude, having a hissy when we tell them what the legal reality is, instead of what they want to hear.

    Per statute,
Quote Quoting 720 ILCS 5/11‑1.50. Criminal sexual abuse.
    (a) A person commits criminal sexual abuse if that person:

    (1) commits an act of sexual conduct by the use of force or threat of force; or

    (2) commits an act of sexual conduct and knows that the victim is unable to understand the nature of the act or is unable to give knowing consent.
    (b) A person commits criminal sexual abuse if that person is under 17 years of age and commits an act of sexual penetration or sexual conduct with a victim who is at least 9 years of age but under 17 years of age.

    (c) A person commits criminal sexual abuse if that person commits an act of sexual penetration or sexual conduct with a victim who is at least 13 years of age but under 17 years of age and the person is less than 5 years older than the victim.

    (d) Sentence. Criminal sexual abuse for a violation of subsection (b) or (c) of this Section is a Class A misdemeanor. Criminal sexual abuse for a violation of paragraph (1) or (2) of subsection (a) of this Section is a Class 4 felony. A second or subsequent conviction for a violation of subsection (a) of this Section is a Class 2 felony. For purposes of this Section it is a second or subsequent conviction if the accused has at any time been convicted under this Section or under any similar statute of this State or any other state for any offense involving sexual abuse or sexual assault that is substantially equivalent to or more serious than the sexual abuse prohibited under this Section.
