Default Birth Certificate After Name Change

My question involves name change laws in the State of: Georgia

I am planning on changing the last names of my three minor children to my maiden name. Due to a Protection from Abuse Order we have not seen or heard from their father in several years. I know I will have to advertise the change in the local papers and that will not pose a problem. My question is once the change has been accepted will the fathers name still be listed on the corrected birth certificates or can I have that removed? He will not be able to be located to sign anything.

We currently live in GA but their certificates were issued in PA & NY.

Default Re: Birth Certificate After Name Change

Changing a child's name has absolutely no relevance to the identity of their legal father. Dad will remain on the birth certificates.
