Police Charged My Boyfriend

My question involves criminal law for the state of: domestic violence. My boyfriend and I got into a argument that started from an ex girlfriend ending up in our neighbourhood. I got upset and jealous and started yelling at him and I threw his new cell phone after he offered it to me to check if he had contacted her at all. He yelled back and called me some names. I got mad and went at him and started punching him in the face. In the commotion I ripped his shirt and i fell to the ground and he kicked or stepped on me to tell me to stay down quit attacking him. He also hit my car because I would not move it out of the way of his car. Alcohol was 100% a factor in this dispute because we have never fought before and never even speak harsh words to one another. The police were called by my neighbours and they ended up arresting my boyfriend after taking my drunk video statement which I may have not told complete truth for I do not even remember half the things that were said, and my kids statement and they put a peace bond against us to stay away from each other. This situation is making me sick to death, I want him to come home and feel that my opinion does not matter to anyone now that the statements are filed. I don't know where to go or where to turn. I'm looking for advice from anyone on the time length and possible outcomes from this situation. Can anyone help in this situation?
