My questions involves people in the state of: NY

Boss is putting pressure on employee to sign a document that employee suspects will contain a mix of agreeable facts, exaggerations, and inaccurate statements regarding the boss' character and history at the job in hopes to create a dubious case against someone else related to the workplace, which is private home. Employee may not only expect to get fired if refuses to sign or to say anything about it to anyone, but also a nasty retaliation involving employee's defamantion of character and other personal damages. Boss has effectively inspired fear among other employees who are also afraid of saying anything. Most matters of the workplace remain hidden to the people related in the matter who oversee the situation mostly from the outside. If employee gives in to the pressure and signs dubious document, what bearing does that really have in a case against someone else? What would be the implications for the employee? Should the employee sign a different type of signature to later state it was done under pressure and intimidation (in hopes to remain employeed for the time being)? Does employee have a prayer given that is the least resourceful person of all involved and relies mostly on own word?
