My question involves criminal law for the state of: NJ

Hi.
I was arrested and charged for shoplifting 3 years ago in NJ.
I was 18 at that time, and although the amount I stole was under $20, I was booked and prosecuted in the court.
However, my charge was dismissed after 6 months (no fines, no court fees, no civil demand, etc.) and expunged my arrest record immediately.

My questions are:

1) Will I have to answer "yes" on the questions asking if I was convicted or arrested on the applications like job and school?
2) Does this hinder my chance of getting a job in retail stores?
3) If I call the lawyers to ask questions like these, would they charge a fee? If yes, do you have an estimate?

Thank you.
