My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: California

Hello,

I really need help on this one. I am originally from Ohio. I was charged in Ohio in 2001 with misdemeanor petit theft, I never did jail time. I only provided a thumb print and this was when I went to my court date. The case was not actually closed until 2003, so that is of course the time that the 7 year rule would go by. A full fingerprinting was not done. I have a job which states that they have to do fingerprinting through Live scan, and I am not sure if this will show up.

Will this type of check actually apply to the 7yr rule? I am so scared that I will be judged based on something I did when I was a brainless teenager. I was nineteen at the time.

Will they actually check records in Ohio or are they just looking for California records since this is where the position is? Any help or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
