Unhappy Risks to Housemates When One Person is Charged With Child Pornography

    Hi everyone,
Please excuse me for my English.
I don't know if this is a silly question or not but frankly it drives me crazy. Please help me out!

My apartment has 4 people. 3 of us (including me) are international students. All of us are on F1 visas all in good statuses and are cleared of records. The other guy was an American and he just moved in about a month ago. I barely talk to this guy.

This morning, about 7 or 8 policemans came in with a search warrant from the court. They searched the whole apartment, took some of the guy's hard drives and arrested this American guy. They did not take anything from us though. We did not know what was going on until one of the policeman tell us that this guy used our wireless internet (which I had to put my name in just for the service from Cox) and got involved in a felony of child pornography. We absolutely did not involve in any shape or form with him and of course, we did not know anything about what he was doing until today when the police came in. They arrested him and let us go for free.

But when I started reading the search warrant they gave me, nobody else's was on it except my name. I asked the policeman and he said that "because you signed the contract with the Internet Service Provider (Cox) so that is probably why your name is in there".

Here is what the warrant said:
"Articles of personal property or orther indicia in the name of 'V**** D T****', that will tend to show domination and control of 201 L***** St,..."

I absolutely did not take any part in the crime and did not know about it and we also have been having the internet service for a pretty long time before this guy moved in. My question is
    1. Am I going to be charged anything? like "providing the service for the crime" or "living with a criminal" or anything like that? Because I am going back to my country this winter break to visit my family and Have To Have my F1 Visa Renewed so I am really worried. Will I be going to have any bad records on me at all?

    2. Also do you suggest that we can continue to live in this address or should we have to find another apartment? It's a pain moving in and out you know

Please help me with this. I'm desperate for answers...

    Thank you.

They arrested him, not you or the other roommates, right? So it would appear that they figured out what happened and who is responsible. Is there a reason you believe that the police may suspect a greater involvement?

Your landlord isn't responsible for this, so I'm not seeing how you would have a basis to break your lease.

Nope, it was just him that got arrested. When they search his room, they even let us go outside to have breakfast of coffee. I don't think the police may suspect a greater involvement at all. I'm a just a little worry
