lajjvi, when you handed the drivers license to the police officer, the first thing he did was compare the photo on the license to you. If that police officer had any doubt in his mind that you weren't the person on that license, he would have asked you to provide more credentials or placed you under arrest until he could prove who you are.

The court is not going to believe that you lost your license and someone, that just happens to be the spitting image of you - found it.

The only alibi that I think would work better for you is, you tell the court that your twin brother stole your license and used it that day. But, then you will have to produce that twin brother to the court - so that isn't going to work ether.

No, the drivers license did not magically appear. I'm still not in possession of my foreign drivers license and I'm thinking of reporting it stolen to the DMV of my country, now that I know that someone else used my Swedish drivers license.

So now you are wanting to commit a separate offense in order to cover another offense? You may have a nice GPA, but you ain't exactly the brightest bulb on the string!

Ya ever thought about honestly owning your actions and making it right the old-fashioned way, i.e. HONESTY!!! You got both a drinking problem and an honesty problem that will be your downfall if not properly addressed and corrected. SOON!

And his ID is magically missing after his friend recommended he report his ID missing.

I went to court today and plead not guilty. If the cop doesn't show up the case will be dismissed...

Some of you are very slow. I stated in the beginning that if I tell the ID story I will be lying, but apparently you guys didn't get it. At least the warrant is gone and I now have a trial where I can set things straight. Thanks for all the help guys.

I spoke to a guy at the court who had 4 friends who plead not guilty and where the cop didn't show up and apparently they got it dismissed.

Oh well, I just hope things will get better from now on so I can go back to my regular life, get the degree and not have any troubles with the law again.

These "guys" and "friends" of yours are going to help you to turn a minor offense into a felony.

You do realize it is a crime all it's own to lie to a judge in open court, right? You do also realize that said judge has heard every excuse in the book and won't believe you for a New York minute, right?

do you have any idea how often a judge in a town that gives out 500 MIP a month has heard "I lost my license and someone else must have used it"? He/She won't believe you, either.

Ask "this guy" if his friends had a lawyer present with them. I think you will have a very hard time on your own getting the case dismissed because the officer didn't show. If the prosecutor is aware that the officer isn't present, the prosecutor will reach out for the officer and give the officer the opportunity to arrive for the session. If the officer can't make the session, he will be granted another day to face you in court. You will then be notified by mail of another court date.

The one thing I hate to see is someone being led the wrong way because of dumb advice of "guys" or "friends." You are going down a very ill advised road. You are being told some very good advice as to why not to continue. You seem hell bent on lying about a small issue and making it a big one. Man up and take your deserved punishment. Lying about an issue this miniscule is idiotic in my opinion. If you really want to see a worthless pice of $100,000 paper, go ahead and earn this felony.

Know what? Cop in my open possession case did not show up, but the prosecutor was sitting there with a Diversion Program all drawn up for me to sign. $400 to perform 40 hours of Community Service, and 2 years probation before it left my driving record.
