Default What is Intent to Defraud

My question involves criminal law for the state of: MN

Can someone give me layman's explanation of this MN statute?

    645.25 INTENT TO DEFRAUD.
When an intent to defraud is required in any law in order to constitute an offense, the law shall be construed to require only an intent to defraud any person or body politic.

    Thanks

    Warren

So you need to know what a "body politic" is? A unit of government.
