My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

Hi,

I'm currently on formal probation for a felony. I have been since December of 2009, and recently have completed all the classes and stuff I was supposed to do.

I was talking to my PO last time I had to report and he says I can request a court date in June to have my felony dropped to a misdemeanor, as well as get summary probation. (I was granted 5 years of probation when I was sentenced in December of '09, and I guess June is halfway through?)

I just had a few questions related to this:

1. Can I request both these actions in one court date?
2. How likely is it that the judge will grant me summary probation AND drop the case down? If it'll help, this is my first felony offense. I have a misdemeanor as well, on a separate case, but that either is already dropped or will be dropped, I just have to pay the court fees. Oh, and I haven't violated or anything.

Just wondering what my overall chances are... the thing is, I know with summary probation I can FINALLY go wherever the heck I want, so I want to start saving money to possibly move... but I don't want to count chickens before they hatch, make travel plans, etc. if the judge will completely shut me down in June.

Any input or help would be appreciated. Thanks!
