Hi. I recently moved to Redmond, WA. I have a couple questions regarding a red light camera ticket I received in this fine town:
1. Is there an example of a mitigation letter I could see?
2. I think some of the mailing deadlines may have been missed by the court. How do I prove this? I don't have the envelopes anymore...
More details: After a couple of weeks here, I received a ticket for running a light. I was sure it couldn't be true, but I followed the handy link and saw a video showing me slowing, and almost stopping, while taking a right on red.
After a quick call with a kind lawyer, I followed her advice to request a mitigation hearing. While waiting for a response, I received two more tickets from the same intersection! Even though I called the traffic camera company and they assured me I had only the one coming! Yay!
So, I submitted two more mitigation requests...
I'm hoping someone here can help me with advice on how to write the letters (I have no special circumstances other than being in a hurry to a new job, having a perfect driving record, and almost stopping/having a clear view of the intersection).
I'm also wondering how to address the multiple citations. The actual infractions occurred before I received the first citation.
Finally, I think the court letters came later than required by law...but I don't still have the envelopes. How would I prove they violated the deadlines?
Thanks for the help!!!
